Here I sit
sniffling,
crying tears of lonliness;
but, not of a lonliness
of one
with nothing;
tears that fall
in fear
of losing the sound
of a voice,
so far away,
yet so close in spirit;
Never
have I felt
like this
about anything,
or anyone;
I feel
like i've found
my other half,
my kindred spirit,
yin for yang;
for once
i've truly
never wanted
to say goodbye,
even for a day;
my perfect half,
my reflection,
the personification
of my innocence
lost;
one who knows me
as no other;
who can see in me,
what I wish others could;
And if I drown in my tears,
I can only pray
that you are
my guiding angel...
...that it is in your arms
where I spend
eternity...

| Nikki, I agree with Regis and Robert, this is splendid, with wonderful flow and beautiful form. The emotions are clearly very deep, and I certainly feel the longing and the need in this poem. Just be sure and check the third-from-the-last line. ;-) -- Jeff |
