“A Poet is someone who tells you to go to hell

The Meaning Of Poetry”

Human species
Is the only
Creative species
And it has only one
Creative instrument
The individual mind
And the spirit of a man
And poetry
Is not simply
Something to study at school
It is something to live for
To love
It crops up everywhere
In pop songs
In novels
Even in sport pages
And in news papers
We live poetry all the time
The situation, are seldom
Relevant to the lives
Of pupils in classrooms
There is a huge resistance against poetry
What should be
One of lives greatest experiences
Poetry is suppose to provide
Provoke thoughts
And Glory!!

Your poem has provoked many thoughts, Tinka - and it's a very good one.

PS My old boss used to tell me to go to hell quite frequently, too - but he was no damn poet, that's for sure!
