~Words on the Wind ~

Your thoughts pouring out on paper

as if sand shifting upon a beach

grabbing one to build upon

as the others remain illusive just out of reach

While inside your mind

they ebb and flow as predictable as tides

with ideas like channel markers

guiding you through to where they hide

The words you cast upon the winds

ones tossed around in the past

and with this crutch, its age and its wisdom

whispers to you, will this be the last

But when the winds blow in

and the stars go blind

as darkness closes you in

will the winds remember the words left behind

Carole this one will resonate for some time to come.
It is so beautifully written, and filled with those
intangibles that keep us pondering all there is yet
to learn . Superbly done!

Your imagery, your verse, your rhyme - as well perfected as the wind itself, constantly taking on new directions, wrapping itself around oneself as to delight and satisfy ... exceptional poetry!!
