For whatever reason, sometimes there just isn't one . . .ya know?

Behold!! my name stinks . . . more than the odor of fishermen and the shores of the seas they have fished.

Behold!! my name stinks . . . more than the odor of carrion birds feasting under a hot desert sun in July.

Behold!! my name stinks . . . more than that of a women of whom slander has been spoken concerning a man.

To whom shall I speak of today?
Yesterday is perished and violence has come upon all men.
There is no heart of men, where one might lean for comfort.
The rightous are no more and the land is given over to evildoers.

To whom shall I speak of today?
I am heavily laden with misery,  and I am without a comforter.
Meanwhile the never-ending battle for my soul wages on and on.
Well-meaning Baptists stand over me shouting bible quotations.

Behold!!! my name stinks . . .while I burden myself with protection against priest and sooth-sayers wanting to own me.

Alas!!! . . .Our good saints are all dead and gone.

Smokey Lonesome / December, 1968 / Nashville, Indiana
