“Reflection Of My Stupid Life”

With heart and mind divorced from reality

She sits there silently

Hair hangs low down her back

Only white sand and cold wind embraced

With Colt 49 in her hand

Imprisoned by the cross-fires of life

Never knew what was coming next

The element of surprises

A place she never wants to return to

Heart and mind

Not comfortable

The target

None of them free to live

Whatever sense of God and hope

Now lost in memories of yesterday

Nature intruding the moment

With cold metal in her hand

She looked down…

Hesitates for a moment

She lift her head

With a big splash

A slap of cold water in her face

Brings her back

Heart and mind

No longer divorced from reality

A ray of sun breaks through

And down came

Pouring rain from her eyes

Time is passing fast

What difference does it make?

When the signs of day fades away

And makes place for night to stay!!

Just a reflection

Of my stupid life

move over Tink, quite a few of us fit right here with you. The difference is some defy and others soak. The soakers get drenched and overloaded. The defiers fight a lost cause but live in a choice of happy and sad. They learn to laugh at their own stupidity and mistakes. In laughing the body reacts to the good chemicals and we feel better. No use dying twice or every second of the day. G

With your brilliant literary talent, I wouldn't call it a "Stupid Life" ... time to shake it off and move on to bigger and better things!!

Blessings my friend,

Suicide is not a good thought, especially when one is creative. There is still a lot to create.

The beginnings of new hopes and new dreams, begins when we are most vunerable. As human beings we all make mistakes - I could introduce you to dozens of people who'd say the stupidest thing they ever did was have me as a friend (during my drinking days.) What we need to remember is if we deal with the pain, a new life will begin... and it will be richer and more fulfilling because we didn't run from it... a sad, powerful, "open" poem

Tinka...I really like Dawn's idea about writing down the good stuff...I do it, and it helps. Hope you are doing well. Really liked the poem.

ditto Sir Ace below. Feel this one, Tinka. These growing pains can be rough; and the fact that they won't cease until we do is sombering. At least our "vision" gets clarified in the process. Take very good care, Poetess. You are just getting stronger.

it's not stupidity to have a quest to seek higher ground ... time moves on quickly and we must relish in every moment ... at times, we all feel a little dopey anyway, it what makes us insightful ;)

And you think you are stupid or your life is, you have no idea young lady how one person can be SOOOOO stupid...and I have to say, I don't think anyones life is at all stupid, just sometimes it may look that way, but only till you sleep on it and get rid of that gun, that has nothing that can help you...cept' it may make life even worse...Ed

Tinka, first off, the write is great. You have a very creative mind. I wish there were a way to take away your pain. But I don't think your life is stupid. And I don't think you are stupid. Your creativity is a testament to that. ~ Sara

Dear Tinka. I can totally relate to a lot of what you express here. I have a hard time figuring out life. And yes, I do feel "stupid" for it at times. Those who have "spoken" before me here have a lot of good wisdom to share. Take care. Love and peace to you. Regis

neither you nor your life is stupid. would you do this one thing for me? tonight - whenever it's night where you are - light a candle and fill up an entire blank page with all there is that makes you beautiful... then fill another blank page with all there is that is remarkably wonder-ful about your life and this world (hint: there is a den, you have all these friends who love you). I only dare to give you this suggestion as it has helped put things in perspective for me and, in the long run, given me the strength and courage to take small actions to change what was holding me back / down. That's not to say it's easy, but... Oh yeah, and the poem is very good as is the overwhelming majority of your work. :) Dawn

Tinka this is so dark and life is a stupid life, we may have mistakes but it is our battle to remain strong and come through...for even in the darkest depths there is still light.

Sorry your feeling like this Tinks, just remember your not alone, we are here for you.

Here, take a good long toke on this and mellow out, Tinka. Or, if you'd rather, I have some real good Tennessee whisjey. No? Drat. Okay, you'll deal with it the Tinka way, always have, always will. Get better.

Tinka, this is a melancholly write and I know it comes from your heart but only one tiny compartment of that big old heart of yours. In the other compartments is the joy, laughter, hope, caring and all the other emotions that make you a great writer. We all must empty that sad compartment once in a while though and your poetry is a good voice and your friends here on the den are great ears.
