Not a personnel story...

Escape from Neptune

The windís tortured scream blew from the North

As crashing waves beat rock to sand

I stood watching from the cliff tops

Trying hard to understand

My tears melded with the raindrops

My despairing sighs wept with its force

How could god just take her from me?

Should I question natureís course

I heard the thundering voice of King Neptune

Come walk with me in my frothy wake

Iíll take away your sorrows and cares

If youíve taken all that you can take

My ocean waves, like arms, will rock you

Till in my eternal depths youíll sleep

Where the sea will hide your sorrows

Iíll hold them in my endless deep

My feet pleaded me to follow the trail

Closer, closer to old Neptuneís voice

With the sting of salt brine on my lip

I stood there debating still my choice

Then another voice far gentler still

Invaded on intimate thoughts of doom

Daddy who will tell me bedtime stories

The veil lifted from my mortal doom.

Very interesting. This is one where the good wins out over the bad. Following Neptune might be the easier route, but not the best. Love has a way of reaching out a hand to us. Karen

Yes, what is it about the sea that can lure and lull us like this?! It beckons like an eternal womb and is VERY enticing when we feel like we could just drift off forever... but it is the human element in our lives which keep us rooted on terra firma and interlocked, intercommunicating with the lives of others... nothing is greater than the pull of love and its undertow.... Evocative and atmospheric, Pops, and full of feeling that we can all share. TY LOL Kate xx
