|Very unique similes in this poem, Regis. I can relate to this one. A few years back, my life revolved around my hubby. Then I rediscovered writing again, and suddenly I had my identity back. Losing yourself in another feels good but it's dangerous, too. In that "desert" we must always keep our thirst in check. Love and Hugs,

|Oh This Is Lovely Regis, and to loose ourselves in another can be a Beautiful awakening especially if we are then found in doing so. This poem is like the feeling of True Love.
I have been lost in another many times, and left pieces of myself there, but I also took a charishable piece of them with me when the promise was broken within Love's Heart.

|The biggest problem with losing oneself in another is we lose our identity and also lose the very qualities that attracted the other party to us. Though it feels so good to get lost in another, it generally dooms the relationship. Always be true to self. Good job, Regis.

|So much in this, Regis... self-knowledge of a romantic and very giving heart and soul that yield themselves so willingly, together with an objective realisation that this may be but a beautiful mirage. You sound like a traveller who has already learned much from other desert experiences, but one who is accrueing wisdom and beauty of character from each visit, and not becoming hardened with cynicism or scepticism. Romantics, I think, are not oblivious to reality, but are those imbued with an inner strength who allow themselves to take the risks notwithstanding the potential for pain or disillusion. It's a life of uncertainty which maybe the realists would not take... but therein also lies the potential for growth, expansion and expression. Keep travellin on, keep learning, keep loving cos your openness bathes all our souls with hope and especially with a tenderness. Vulnerability and honesty are to be most cherished of personal qualities. You have these in abundance. And such a person is never without the many who would glady "be there" to help mend the wounds should you fall! To live is to love and to love is to live... you do both to the full! Bless you, Kate xx|

|Regis, the simplicity of the words are, nevertheless, packed with the kind of emotion that we all recognize. You've given pen to a recurring impact that invades we who fall hard.
You are so obviously a very romantic man... and that suggests the kind of pain we never seem to learn from... as we do it again and again.
This is a masterpiece in its human insight. One of my favorites... especially love the last few lines. katy xox

This is very eloquent and the honesty about it makes it feel a bit fragile. Pure is the word that comes to my mind about this poem. Being lost in someone CAN be the best sensation in the world and to be able to decribe it so well that your reader FEELS it, must be the second best sensation.....Robin

|Beautiful write, Regis, but losing oneself, entirely, in someone else can be somewhat of a curse in its own right. If the person is true, then it can be a wonderful thing, but if the person is not completely honest with you or chooses to use you for whatever reason, it can be a nightmare. I've lived through this, both ways and learning to trust and building that trust so that it is sturdy is essential. Good luck to you and congrats on a fabulous write!

Another beautiful introspective poem written out of the deepest recesses of your sensitive heart. To lose yourself to love is to gain. Never regret feeling love even if it ends in pain. Rather be grateful that you knew to love and have the capacity to love again. I wish you the realisation of all of your dreams. You deserve only happiness. May your heart rise again in joy.

|A beautiful poem I love the tree form. Regis, I hope for your sake it is love returned. Being lost in someone else means you put off living your own life. Your every move seems to depend upon what they do. It is not the way we were meant to live. It only works when both feel the same way then each are caring more for the other than themselves and it equalizes. All the best to you!
