"Here where the lotus is blooming somehow / Only an echo in equipoise when / All has gone mad among children of men"

Apocalyptic Lotus

Here in the lightning here in the thunder
Here in the cosmic and the chaotic
In the familiar and the exotic
At the still point I watch and I wonder

Eroding imploding exploding now
Dashing and crashing and smashing and then
Here where the lotus is blooming somehow
Only an echo in equipoise when
All has gone mad among children of men

The eardrums of the deaf burst as the blind
Gouge out the eyes of those who will not see
Though none may hear nor see yet all feel fear
I turn away and leave it all behind
As they consume each other but not me

Hybrid of an unusual kind
The cut of my hair is monastic
The cut of my features dynastic
Lacking a brain yet having a mind
All my own as alone on the earth
At the still point I sojourn to birth

I especially loved this, very powerful imagery

The world is truly mad, and you see it starkly and write it elegantly. I find it really interesting that you think of yourself as mind, a truly spiritual perspective. Keep writing, and much peace, Peter

A poem with spiritual muscle to spare! More than a great read, for those with eyes and ears and soul to see and hear and feel, you offer a beautiful mantra for this war-torn disease-ridden and fear-corrupted era that is too often anything but (dare I say it) beautiful. Enjoyed this tremendously.
