The wilderness of falling light
Streams generous in calling fire,
Four arched reaching elms in
A world jewel-drenched entire.
Voluminous blue atmosphere
Reveals a shattered field
Of lit stars in sky, clear,
Which seem eyes of deity.
Fording the rivers of night,
Parting the arms of ocean and
The fingers of raging dusk,
This limb of the diffuse nebula
Leaves glades like wells
Among the long sere suns.
Calling force of exile toward
The nets of gravity,
Toward the shape of time's webs,
Draw into the singing spheres,
Draw into the spirals of living time,
As warm, shelled walls sleep gently,
Golden, and forever, and entropic wave,
Winged infinite, breaks on the ivory circle,
Falls full-flooded from the city out of time,
From the rings of pale faces
Turned outward toward the
Roads between the worlds,
Toward celestial passion and
Deep oceans of dissolving space.
