Solitude

Please don't misunderstand
I'm a man of many moods

I know solitude will be
my solace, my sanctuary
with her loving heart

I get up, I get down
and then stillness settles
me with silence

It's an awakening
A rebirth

I get up, I get down
She has a gypsy heart
it comes and goes

I wish for love
and hope for forgiveness
I stand in the dark
still and silent
wishing I could forget

I get up, I get down
with pain and sorrow,
chaos, haunting me

I search for solitude
with a loving heart
to give me redemption
I think of verses
to share my joy

Her gypsy heart beats
in rhythm with mine

I'll soon be in my sanctuary
hiding from these moods
haunting me

I see your pretty face
like a reflection
of solitude
I'll soon be still and silent
as you smile at me

Very emotional poem.
Sanctuary hiding from these moods.
a gypsy heart, it comes and goes.
Really relate to this one.
Thanks Dale (c:)

"I get up, I get down...then stillness settles me..." You are a master of mood, Dale, and a wise soul. I envy your ability to adequately express emotion without the cloak of metaphor or other device. This is a rare gift. Thank you for sharing it...

Dale,

You are a true romantic at heart!
I agree with Eileen though, somehow
I just can't see you sitting still...
unless of course it is in the reflection
of the "She" in your poem, all things are possible!

A wonderful poetic distinction between the sorrows of loneliness and the potential treasures of cultivated solitude. A savory slice of gentle enlightenment from your wise and knowing pen:-)
