A New Season

A New Season by Pam Osbey

Yellow bees are buzzing
singing a new joyful tune.
The winter days are
all gone away.
The ice is gone.
And now, we are all out
And trying to play.
The bright sun is coming alive
and little girls and boys
are giving high fives.
It is that unbelievable time.
When winter gives way
To another season.
A season that brings
Damp rain, but at least
It’s not painful as the icy
Roads of yesterday.
The green grass is getting plush.
The runners are jogging down
Lake Shore Drive or in the
Communities around Humboldt Park.
It is now that season.
A season of new birds soaring
Through the air.
No despair.
No heavy coats.
Just a time of lighter jackets.
And preparing for summer times
of Taste of Chicago, Ravinia,
summer festivals and much more.
It is a Spring thing!
Makes us all want to sing
good new beautiful tunes
That are never blue.
So get ready for a brand new day
Greet the birds and let the warm
bring you joy!
Spring, now, that’s a joyous thing.

Spring is my favorite time of the year. It's a time for new growth, re-growth, and fresh starts. You have penned it well, we can see it.
