In sickness & in health. . . we better mean what we say on that once in a lifetime wedding day

that night
i cried behind my bravery

laid in an empty bed
covered by a quilt of misery

how much we connected
in three decades
is like treasure to me

no more promise of ecstacy
until time tells us what
is to be

but no matter what
or where or how,
there will be us
in the beginning
as God plann'd it to be

the physical end
will never transcend
the magic of forever
when it comes to
You and Me

p.s. Presenting "Ken and Cyn" -- photo was taken August 23, 1975, Anderson, IN at my home church (Sherman Street Church of God.) "What do you mean talkin' 'bout. . .'Gee, she sure was skinnier way back then!'" Got more bounce to the ounce in 2005 (LOL)

What a beautiful picture a what a great looking couple. Your sentiments in this poem are perfection and a strong commitment to the vows of marriage. This is a really great poem, Cynth'ya! Who cares about a little more junk in the trunk? are still a very beautiful lady.
Take care,

(((hugs and prayers))) all the way for you and hubby!

Exquisitely worded to bring out the feelings of love that cover so many years together. It's so hard to put all those emotions in words that really express the depth but you did it Girl! Excellent all the way. I love the picture. Sure brings home your feelings! Wonderful idea and I do love you sharing this part of yourself with us here at A/D. I have a 'little' more bounce to the ounce myself than I did 37 years ago when hubby and I said our vows. Just more of me for him to love! lol
