"Does the moon speak? I think it spoke to me"

What the Moon Said


I had written a poem about depression

But now I have thrown it away

I want something better a brighter digression

I want to say something today

About the moon being so bright and white last night

Rising over the avocado tree

Does the moon speak?  I think it spoke to me


I strained to hear each lunar word

I listened to it hungrily

And although this might sound absurd

I think it said for me to be

More mindful of it and to see

It as it is also the stars

Up shining there as best they can


That I should break depression's bars

And undertake to be a man

Who celebrates the sky and soon

I would be healed: so said the moon

In this instance my precious friend, listen to the moon for it speaks great wisdom. It is heartening for me to see your growth. You are a wonderful human being and deserve so much. Keep shining.

Certainly the moon has been around long enough to know a thing or two and well worth lending an ear. Fortunately, in this case, you also lent it your own illumination through the power of your pen. Enjoyed the read.

Awe Steve-
The Moon was Full too, Many Changes ahead.. Believe in them coming to you from an Ocean Blue- filled with Happiness of plenty - to share with you afar- As the sadness takes another direction.... This poem you wrote is jsut Beautiful and articute.. I said a few times, I like your style and expression.. I went into Poethouse.. you left on another site.. in a review.. and I found this Poem you wrote in that -Other- site.. This touched my Heart&Soul and took hold.... I left it at the bottom, that way - you will know what Poem it was....
Take CAre of U- 4 ME/ -Us- I would miss you - if you left these pages- Keep stopping back.... I wrote a few new poems myself.. Just having Fun.. Have a Wonderfully Inspirationally DAy! P.S. What made you say/use the Avacado Tree.. I have a Baby Avacado Tree, in my front window.. growing well.. took 3 yrs. They do take years for full growth... I eat them 2 times a wk.. GREAT Vitem.s in em' and Yummmmy,stuffed w/ Tuna- or cut up and put in Tomatoe Soup...sorry, had 2 add that juicy info....

"The bigger they are the nicer they are"
You want to be big? You better be nice!
Arrogance carries you only so far
And no one can bear the taste of it twice
If you would live within the heart and mind
Make sure you leave a lot of love behind

Arrogance leads to forgetting your name
Just like the arrogant forgot their own
And fate took back the laurels of their fame
To leave them with their arrogance alone

But if you let somebody else applaud
Your name because of love which you have shown
You find out how it is to be like God
To live as love to know as you are known
