The pleasures of romance allude
The crux of reality haunts solitude
Nature's lessons are far too real
Crystal rain on petal or leaf
A silent turning to the light
The sun through scattered clouds

My words run from flowery image
Jumbled in passionate disarray
Oh, they do have their place!

But the dell opens to meaning
In the hollow of the trees
The meadow is green with promise
And seclusion a necessary valley
For the soul's absolution

My path has come to a crossroad
The signs point both ways
I am to choose between two shades
Of gray-there is no black and white
This lesson I have learned
And the answers are not provided

So I travel the inner path
In my heart's most ardent quest
One is rocky, steep and winding
The other safe, smooth and straight
But colorless and unsatisfying

Can I see the trees for the forest?
The Big Picture I can decipher
In this I know I am useful
It is in the details of my life
That I am found wanting
In these is found God...and the devil

Linda,

The photo is so deeply dark and yet serene at the same time; your poem is exactingly penned ... outstanding!!

"the pleasures of romance allude" and delude
the picture for solitude. The Big Picture is
the one that tells all. Brava Linda! Great write.

Take care of small matters and the big ones will take care of themselves. Well done.
