Dear Friends and my AD Family,
I am not making this a memorial site, except I can’t help but be reminded of facts. I am well aware that I am not the only one to suffer losses. I have never voiced my sadness, but I guess there comes a time in life when the pain can no longer be buried. Hopefully, this will not be resented… instead… understood.

With warm love and hugs to all

 Daddy's Little Girl

The loss
No good-bye…
Just departure
No hugs, no kisses
No warmth,
How was I to know?
Those would be your final words !
That would etch forever in memory
To haunt
To remind
My playback!
I couldn’t help!
I too was broken
But not like you
But too young
I should have stayed
Remained by your side
They took me away
Forced me to leave
You left this world
Unknown to me
On the dawn
Before of my 13th
I was your child who simply adored you

No goodbyes no hugs or love
I awoke…
You were gone!

i totally empathize with you ... it is very difficult to lose a parent so young ... at least you have memories to help you through ... imagine having none at all ...

a most heartfelt and sad poem ...

I am so sorry, Elga. The loss of a parent at any age is a devastaion, but to lose a parent when you are so young is a scar that continues to bleed throughout a lifetime. There are no words to soothe the ache or the emptiness in your heart. This is such a sad poem, Elga. My heart goes out to you.
Take care,

Elga - I join the others in saying to you in a most personal way, "I am so sorry." Loss of a loved one is the greatest we experience while living in this wonderful world. Live well, and have days of joy and mirth along with your bereavement. We all look forward to more and more of your highly talented compositons. Keep them coming! - Friend Bill

Deeply moving, Elga. No one should resent anyone grieving the loss of a father. Don't apologize. This is such a powerfully emotive write. I'm glad you posted it. ~~Nordette

elga, it is your site and it should be whatever you feel the urge for it to be at that moment, a.d. will read and either accept it as what you mean it to be or make their own decisions, but you have a right to write what you want. this is a very heartfelt and sad tribute.

It is easier sometimes to share what is in ones heart with others who you know care and understand and most here on the den know how much pain it is to lose one so special. Our hearts are with you and this is a special tribute.
