Seal Of Ap’paw’val…by Rufuz

Here I sit on my leash,

Dad will be right back,

So for a few minutes I get to use the computer,

I write of a poem written by Auntie Kate Clifford,

She most certainly has my seal of ap’paw’val…

She wrote of a puppy that has been mistreated,

Left to fend for itself, no water or food,

Hot though the weather may be,

He still stays attached to a tree,

No shelter from the elements,

He wishes he were free…

I feel his pain,

We are all part and parcel of the other,

His mother may have been mine,

His father may have been another,

His brothers and sisters I may have known.

Together in some way we may have grown…

Please, oh please treat animals like you would yourself,

You don’t have to feed him off the top shelf,

His water can be dirty, at least its liquid,

Play with him, give him treats, he does so enough for you,

Make his brain work at least once a day,

He will repay you by protecting you to the death,

His love for you will be unending, he will help you not to feel blue…

Rufuz,

That's all I want, to be ap'paw'ved. :) I know I've got it made when you and your Daddy review my words--and I thank you both. :)

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :)

Oh I agree with you Rufuz and hey I share my food with the dog next door. He is a gorgeous Dalmation and his owner works but he does stop and listen when I talk to him. He likes that and the other day I saw the coolest thing. Two guys riding in their truck with thier dog in the middle who had a pair of sunglasses that was so cool to see.

Great write, Rufuz...kind of straight from the dog's mouth, so to speak. I agree with you, Kate's poem was super and one that all should read.
Take care,
Sherry

Thanks Rufuz. I like you too :-) I especially liked the part where you said, "Make his brain work at least once a day," To me it is also abuse if you do not spend time with your animals. I have been watching a very large beautiful dog, penned up in a tiny backyard, becoming very, very bored. However it is well fed and the people do come out once in a while. If you have a large dog......walks are so necessary! Can you image sitting in all kinds of weather.....staring at the same wooden fence every day, rarely seeing anyone? Yes the slightest movement becomes a thrill! Sad :-(

awww, rufie, you get my seal of ap'paw'val every time; you are a winner in my eyes! and so is your daddy! so sad how animals are treated, hope your daddy treats you better than do a lot of people...so sad; i don't know how people can be so cruel!

there is no greater love than the love between a dog and his master! that is true love!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in tx., karen lynn. :( *kissies to you, sweet rufuz!*
