"There is nothing Freddie Noodles does not see"

Transcendental Sonnet #1380:

A Function of Felinity

for Heartshope Kandaroo

Fred pokes his head through two panes of the curtain

Face framed between them commanding a certain

Dignity and absurdity at one go

Two green laser-eyes on all which lies below

The front room window where he keeps the watch there

Just in case he should spy his friend Smokey Joe

Or heaven forbid some strange dog ambling by

I think he also keeps one eye on the sky

Nothing gets past him nothing can outlast him

Vigilance a function of felinity

Which animates his radar-ears to motion

As standing guard with uttermost devotion

He keeps the watch while right here on top of me

There is nothing Freddie Noodles does not see

Steven,

Welcome back... Say a hearty "thankee sai" to Mr. Noodles for holding down the fort while you were away. Our pets are so much like extensions of our own lives into the animal kingdom. Interpretors, if you will. They can see the simple wisdom in a random act of empathy where we miss the target completely.

Peace to your soul dear poet,
