Saunter out the door and my way is unclear
though a journey must commence
Been stuck in the miasma of my frontier
roped in by an invisible fence

of indifference

Pass the landscape with a shudder and nod
and a casual glance to the reverend
His eyes too fixed on his book and his god
to utter a thought to a friend

of irreverence

Clear the hollows and dregs in time
to see the celestial father retire
His toils once more, committed to rhyme
and evoked by those who aspire

to provocation

Darkness currents surround the scape
and shadows ink to the master
The heart grows and slows agape
predestiny, the prize to the laster

of indoctrination

The subtlety no longer resistant
and overtly abusive schisms pause
Redoubling each refused existent
with shattered spirit and branded cause

to prevaricate

At long last to stop, journey unmade
respite to none and forlorn again
Time closes in upon this failing grade
in wishes and emptiness all in disdain

to matriculate

May I call you my brother? your spirit is ordained and your visions greater than the earth, it is a blessing to be in your house. Continue to teach my warrior brother of Gods house. Peace be upon your temple of thought. It is an honor to be among the children of God.

Your poems are brilliant Brian! I found that
a cycle of negativity,can become a subtle
addiction.Being optimistic can be very hard work;-)
Indifference is a form of abuse, whether against
another or self. Excellent though provoker!
Thanks for sharing...
