Highway Waltz A Different Side of Paradise
As she flashes her strapping bosoms wide Near Good Forest pulsates dark and wide Delicate trappings of a vixen rest by her side Sons and sinners of Babylon race outside … Naked with wild stallions, Jezebel does glide She is disguised, but says she has nothing to hide … Near Black River is swollen with bones and pride Seeing men are blinded by swells and tides.
Thus was borne the confusing color gray Scorched beneath a cloud-tangled sky Banished completely by Heaven’s eye! ‘Twas too heavy a burden to deny …
Near, God here too sits on a patch of blue Chiseled in red woods grow pines true … Beneath hard, stony paths brews a stew God sent, but hell bent, gushes hullabaloo … Utter greenery leaps from of this showcase Myths, folklore, and legends inflate its case Some imprudently try to alter Heaven’s face ‘Tis too much tomfoolery to trace!
We glance at a place where women mourn … Too many souls raced to toot their horn, Today, new roadside crosses …were born … ‘Twas a hell of a ride, this way well worn …
Today, we realized worthy died … Literary haste released and poets cried, Horns blew, bodies flew by her side … And the toll cost more than pride …

Shy,
It's been a while--too long a while. Welcome back!
An excellently penned, richly imaged poem; love the rhyme!
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :) |

Some great imagery, Jim. Especially those big bosoms. (smiles)
