Dreamless World

Dreamless World

Being dreamless-
We asked for dreams,
To fill the void deep in our empty hearts;
So they sent us Poets…

Who wrote of love and heart-ache,
So vividly we wept as we read,
And our hearts were moved by the
Beautiful words of lovers…

And they sent us painters,
Who painted the sky in fiery hues of
Orange and red…

They painted a circus in the sky,
Using clouds as their medium,
Women with long black hair,
And eyes that glowed like stars…

Ah how we wept,
When we saw that beauty existed still,
That hope was not lost to all-
And love existed still…

In long halls of exhibits,
I watched a child,
Bend to smell the portrait of a single rose.
I could not help but smile.

Reality is in the heart and soul,
He said,
And at last I understood.

Beauty is intuitive and instinctive and its recognition does somehow connect with an invisible strand in heart and soul that just "breaks" when it is touched, releasing an unsurpassable fragrance which lights us up from within. Another really gorgeous write from you, Retta, thank you. Kate xx

No one can say it quite the way you do. You float around on clouds that move and shift with the wind, but when it is needed you come off that cloud and sink your teeth into the meat of the subject.
