in late april the Existence of one, or more ivory billed wood peckers was reported after being considered extinct for over half a century --

in th words of rhe most famous woopecker

ha HA ha HA HA

flash of white
ghosting
through the bottomlands
cryptic calls
on the wind
a lost species
shows itself
secretive survivor
in the bald cypress
red capped recluse
rising from extinction
ecological ghost
ghost no longer
