`Cascading over nature-placed stones,` `the cool water encourages peaceful thoughts` `while nourishing abundant nearby flora,` `refreshing in the image of life.` `Water�s splashing, gurgling sounds` `bring forth melancholy images` `of childhood days of friends playing,` `rambunctious in their happiness at river�s edge.` `Waterfalls from mountain�s ridge` `embracing each stone as it flows downward,` `softly caressing bolder and cobblestone alike` `on its plunge to valley below.` `Water - fundamental constituent of the universe;` `an essential solvent for plant, beast, and man.` `Yet we abuse and misuse. A saying reported from the Prophet of Islam has it that a person was making ablution (for prayer) and he was using too much water. The Prophet said, �What is this waste?� The man said, �Is there a waste in ablution also, O Messenger of Allah?� The Prophet said, �Yes, even if you were near a flowing river.� (Ibn Majah, Hadith no. 419) Thank you Jackie for the reminder...poem is beautiful...well done! Safi The prophet of islam said (what means) "Do not waste water even if you're by the bank of a river"

Micke, spot-on! With the weather you've been having I'd hate to think what it would be like if we had to ration water. It could happen again as it did before! We are in the nineties today so water is a precious topic to me too! Well doen! Love, Eileen
