Caught in the act of love

You found me the tavern
in the corner
watched my every move
as I lay the money down

Pick me from the floor
as the voices
spun my head around
told me that you loved me

As the bartender
laughed out loud
Dressed my wounds of depression
as you undressed for the boys

Held my mind in your pocket
as you worked the crowd
with all your toys
bent the last of passion

Caught me
before I hit the floor
sold your last potion
and helped me make it to the door

Fallen angel
picks a boy from off the street
heals the pain burning from failure
salvages hid defeat
all around the music
find the fast and the slow
each a voice
that cries in the breaking of the mold

vision is the purpose
for the fool and the tramp
as she is strutting her stuff
he falling off the ramp
wind and rain shadow

No more stories left to tell
heard that there was reason
for the victims to be in hell
question the reason wine is
this side of cheap
bourbon is so much better
but both will grant you sleep

Body so soft in laying
life is like the vision
that I find
love is seeking fulfillment
as she lives inside my mind
tribute to the whiskey
and the bourbon left in the drawer
all I can remember
is love don't live here any more

silver spoon upon the mantle
shotgun above the door
all that a man is made of
will only want her more

Taste the last of forgiving
in the victory over death
no one is the winner
and there she has no regrets

Hard the picture of a love
left to sing only
forgetful leave off the wedding ring
saw her dancing in the shadows of a broken melody
all that she was wearing
was what was left of me

Big time Good! Another take on the whore with a big heart, done damn well. My favorite? "all that a man is made of / will only want her more"
