My weary heart now needs a rest,
from the rush of days gone by,
So I lift my heart up to the sun
as I breathe in the deep blue sky.

My sorrow wonít cry her tears for you,
my lonely heart tries not to notice you are gone...
But each and every time I look inside
I find the words to a brand new song.

I thought my heart was doing well
as I turned and walked away;
But every now and then I stop and I ask,
"Why did love turn out this way?"

I donít know that I will ever understand
the Lordís reasons for this going awry;
I trust that my God knows what is best for me...
And greet the blessings of each day with Loveís sigh.

Thanks Deb for this contribution to the poetry of the new millenium. Excellent work. "My sorrow wonít cry her tears for you,
my lonely heart tries not to notice you are gone..." a wonderfully fresh and original line.
