Oh how important things like money, sex, jewelry etc seem to us when we are young only to be ignored in favor of having that one person lying beside you at night as age robs all but the love in a persons heart...

Now the fading twilight of their years

Has stole their sexual youth away

He looks at her, she looks at him

In a more endearing kind of way

He smiles at her, she smiles at him

The words no longer needed to be said

They know when the lights go out

Theyíll be snuggled close in bed

Holds out his hand, she takes it in hers

Tenderness like a warm climax starts to spread

They squeeze hands just a little tighter

As on his shoulder she rests her weary head

Memories theyíve built a lifetime

Well hold them through the winterís cold

You donít need a lot of money

When two hearts together do grow old

They also know the day is coming

When they may have to part their way

So now they make the most of every minute

As they treasure each and every day

For that is a love thatís real and true

Not material things or even sex wild and hot

Itís the love that will still be there at the end

When everything else tends to be forgot.

Good words said from your heart. I enjoyed reading it and placing it in my heart as a remembrance of my love while he was alive too.

You are something else. I bet a very heartfelt man. You write romance and memories eternal, with softness in a lovely way.

This is true understanding and the ONLY thing that matters at the end of the day: to know and feel totally, utterly and deeply loved from the tips of your toes to the core of your being... where AD does nothing to diminish worth but only to deepen and enhance it. This makes me weep. Only true soulmates can have this depth of feeling, I think; it can be achieved in an instant when souls collide... on the other hand, a whole shared lifetime together can not bring the connection you speak of to pass - albeit a true loving and caring friendship may exist in its place. But the chemistry thing is different... I love the pricelessness of faithfulness and triumph in this gem of a write, Pops. You are a star and are valued greatly! I hope you know that. LOL Kate xx

You had me going from the title...I was, at first, a bit hesitant to read this...but am I glad I did *whew! glad it wasn't what I thought it was LOL* It was even more better, as Cajuns like to say--a most beautifully tender expression of long lasting love! Well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :)
