Tears flow like a busted dam
As you walk down the skyway
To your new lover found
In the dark recesses of cyberspace
To lose you for an idealized construct
Rings unfathomable to me
The plane lifts up through the dark clouds
Of my heart beating wildly
My eyes stare at a running message
"Flight departed to San Francisco"
How does one computer with a shadow
Steal your lover out from under you?
What happened to commitment and touching?
The sound of your voice echoing
Minstrels sweet and medicinal
To this aching heart
Once thought incapable
Of showing love again
A screen flickers before me
Trying to catch a glimpse
Of that once-perfect face
Commitments replaced by computers
All vulnerability removed
By a mechanical process
