I'm sorry, Karen.

surrounded
by gathering storm clouds
all is grey -
my temper in a fit
of fury
descends on anyone
around me -
a tornadic funnel
of anger
destroying all i love :
i don't care
who's hurt in the process -
it will be
the death of me as well .

Yes. Well expressed, Karla. There's a reason for the anger and I suppose that love is the only cure. Thank you for sharing a universal truth. Amour et paix à toi. Régis

What's in there has to come out... I have stuffed down anger over many years and now I know I'm as improperly volatile as spilled petroleum... and don't we always hurt those closest to us? Having lived an "only child"-type of existance, "sorry" was a word I struggled to use and can never remember having heard it said to me either. I have only relatively recently come to know of it's power to mend, heal, restore and strengthen - such that relationships can be even stronger than before! It's a "miracle" word! Now I can't seem to use it enough.. too much, probably, in an overly self-apologetic kind of way. Balance is a struggle, isn't it?! But this is a "laid bare" write that has got us all gathering in for a group hug, Karla!! So glad you and Karen can share at this deep level and not allow the walls to build and separate: good for you! Bless you both. LOL Kate xx

Anger - sadly part of our human condition - but it sounds like you and Karen have already made peace - and may peace be with you for a very long time to come.

Well spoken, and well written, Karla. Anger is usually a destroyer, and only with more love can it be saved.

Peace.

Powerful write Karla! Anger is a waste of energy and a self-defeating emotion. I hope you are over it! I'm glad you can write about it so well, perhaps you are relieved now.

Great write... I feel you two could never stay angry for to long... you can feel your love coming through the screen...

An old AA thought says "Anger is fear turned inside out."

Karla:

You have described this so well. Don't worry, the emotion is only human's. We've all gone through this at one time or another.

You have described the feeling so well. Good job!
