Someone told me to keep my head down
naturally, I looked up
and it hit me
right between the eyes
no surprise
and I rise
to surmise
the whys
of your sighs

Maybe my antics have become tiresome
historically, I cross lines
and I never
knew that they were there
or didn't care
to repair
or despair
about where
or how austere

I can relate to the breathlessness
Variably, I hyperventilate
and I forget
the show of restraint
in complaint
I'm no saint
this, no feint
just a plaint
to acquaint

I wear the skin of the brimful
Seemingly, I amuse myself
and I should
make this my last work
in network
return to clerk
back to murk
wipe off my smirk
less minds to irk

good rhyme, Brian ... sometimes when we feel we "irk" others, we are really inspiring them ... always keep writing ...
