Cultivated Storms

Forces of nature is a powerful experience, and some of us have seen much more than we'd like.

Crushing waves, torrential rain

cultivated storms, nothing contained

beaches eroded, debris scattered

forces of nature, lives shattered

homes without roofs trees have fallen

power lines down  all normalcy  stolen

displaced in shelters ill at ease

clinging to family trying to appease

curfews enforced, can’t go home

sans power for miles, looters roam

assistance at hand, much bureaucracy

to restart lives, outright hypocrisy

modern technology, predicts changes in weather

and outcomes as well, crucial it comes together
