A poetic tribute to my Father. A man who loved the sea...

A powerful presence
Resides inside of me
Strong, kind and loving
A safe lei in a stormy sea
A compass when all around me
Have lost their footing
He calms the waters
Sets sail to my spirit
And a course straight and true
Never again will despair
A hungry whale
Swallow me into darkness
That great lightless void
The seas ebb and flow and so do I The contours of my life flow as water
Into the shape of whatever holds it
Yet strong enough to carve through rock
This is the strength he has willed to me
I will weep but not die to weeping
I will fall but not be broken
I am bouyed by his quiet wind
Until my life has flowed
Into the universal ocean

OMG Linda this is such a great tribute. He was a good man, and I can tell because of the way you speak of him.I only wish I had a parent that loving. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, adn at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, stubborn to a fault, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little terrified sister, Barbie

... think I'll just tether my little boat to yours, Linda. My, this is beautiful and I just want to bask in the lei of it and to imagine that your feelings could have been mine for the father I have never known. But it is also a beautiful blueprint of the Father's heart that I DO know! I am grateful. The picture also is awesome - and very like the scenes in The Lake District here, where I have spent so much time walking amid its brooding and love. Glad I didn't miss this one... TY Kate xx

Your father would be truly honored, Linda. The poem and picture are equally beautiful. As someone who is quite the 'Daddy's girl' herself, I can attest to the impact that Fathers make on the lives of their daughters. It is a bond, never broken, and one which lives beyond the grave.
Take care,
Jill
