Photo by Regis (me). Just another way to say, "I love you." Sometimes nature is really in sync with my soul...

Blue Song

It's all blue
Not a soupcon of sun
At outer edge of dawn
Blue mountains
Across blue valley
Beyond blue river
Blue town
Behind blue haze
Only shadows are
Black
Is my favorite color
Blue a close second
Black and blue
Like my bruised
Battered soul
Thoughts of you
A saxophone or two
And this song is done
All in blue
(I love you)

Why do you keep repeating the word blue over and over again? It can get a bit annoying to some readers.

Aside from this the poem is nicely crafted and emotional. Kudos to you! I enjoyed the read!

must've been a fine day that you wrote this -- the pic is wonderful -- can see you composing while looking out. And this short phrase style of yours really sings (the blue(s)!) Black, NOT, but blue is my favorite (aqua) and my studio always gets painted that color.
Love your style of writing.

I have a few "of blue" also, my favorite color. Your thoughts immerse the reader in the intensity of the color. The saxophone even sounded like blue...

This quote about blue I just love, "As yellow is always accompanied with light, so it may be said that blue still brings a principle of darkness with it. The colour has a peculiar and almost indescribable effect on the eye. As a hue it is powerful, but it is on the negative side, and in its highest purity is, as it were, a stimulating negation. Its appearance, then, is a kind of contradiction between excitement and repose." ~Goethe, Theory of Colours (Translated by Charles Lock Eastlake)

So nicely done! Pen on ~SilentDream

Now that one was downright beautiful!! Hope you don't mind me giving you a poem to a poem review, but here is my rendition of blue:

Blue Rain

With Music of the rain
Thunder resounds in the flame

As the shadows dance
The reflections prance

In the mirrors of our souls
Igniting embers energy flows

With the fog of our scent
Mingled with smoking incense

Increasing our desire
Blending essence of fire

Our earthy vessels writhing
Seeking
Kissing

Chalice and phallus meet
Melt with steamy heat

The sensations of the flute
As the saxophone takes root

The storm becomes the butterfly kiss
The horns become the dragonfly mist

Rhythm is the percussion
Reactor of the reaction

With lust in love
Below and above

Sweet release of intensity
Or shall we call it tenacity?

Only the storm can say
Take it all the way

Spiraling upward
Outward

To infinity
Finite Beauty

On this night with the moon new
And the music of the rain and...Blue

Blue - The wolf knew

One week after moving
in with the wolf disguised

Through a beating
no anger or frustration am I to realize

I am not allowed to feel in any extreme
Neither am I allowed to cry or scream

I am to do only as I am told
for to do otherwise again

the violence will unfold
I will be grateful

for this I have been given
a home that will never be mine

that I live in

So I shall silently cry and wish
for my Daley Storm and internally relish

Basking in his love that was so pure
if only I could have known this before

the door to my cage was locked into place
like the bruises
now visible
upon my neck and face

The wolf knew

The Color Blue

Blue is Serenity
The Ocean

Calming Waters

The warmth within
The color white

One of three primary colors
Opposite of Orange

Rain Water
The Sky

Shadows

My mood when I cry

The color inside
of the yellow flame

Blue is cold
Blue is Hot

Peace
Tranquility

Anger and Madness
it is NOT

Blue is the color
of my bruises when abused

It is ice
It is snow

Day & Night

Blue Dragons
Blue Mondays

Blue Faeries
Blue Moons

Tears

The color that within is white
Upon black it shimmers and gleams

Blue is Self

Blue is Me

Regis dear, I acho Gwen in what she said. Your pom describes my life almost to the heart of how I was forced to live my life for so many year. My black and blue soul will never be fulfilled regardless of how much I try to let the past go. There is so much that was stolen from me at such a very young age. I was forced to endure horrors that no person should have to go through. Even today there are those narrow-minded people who just have no idea what awaits them on judgement day. OH and BTW, I started back to work today too. Everything is going good. I passed my stress test with flying colors, and I no longer have to take my beta blockers for my heart either. I still have to take my plavix, because of the high cholesterol. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, stubborn to a fault, joy to the woeld, peace on earth, & (((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little terrified sister, Barbie

Dear Regis,
You do take beautiful photographs and I love the blue tint added. Like Picasso you are expressing yourself in this colour to depict your emotions. Blue may be the colour used to depict sadness but I also think it is the colour of hope. The endless azure of a clear sky that reaches out to eternity.
Lovely work.

This is Marvelous. A poem of the true romantic and loving heart of yours. I love the way you used your favorite colors and turned then into a bruise and then the black are the shadows and then eliminated them so there is no darkness. This poem is absolutely spectacular!!! and so is that view from your window there.

Mmmmm - makes me think Joni Mitchell and Procul Harem - though "white" is in there somewhere, too... this is soulful and soul food, Regis, and you hold the tension beautifully. Moment also captured perfectly in your picture - that instant before colour creeps in.... But even light cannot seem to hold perfect balance, so why should we expect to? Especially where the oceans of emotion are concerned. Beautifully written and expressed. Love perhaps hurts and heals in equal measure. TY and Bless you, Kate xx
