Share Print Save Become a Fan After a trip to Switzerland realised there is no place like home, but to be honest that always has been my view, maybe I just needed reminding. The picture above is Wastwater in Cumbria the county I live in England

Good to be back in England After visiting Switzerland Travelled to the land of the Alps Stayed awhile amongst the Swiss Then back home for an important date My Granddaughters christening day Next day back to the sunny Swiss hills Why returning there will never know Switzerland like everywhere else Has fallen to the mindless vandals The once clean Swiss country Now has graffiti and rubbish like the rest Now back in England�s green and pleasant land No wish to travel abroad any more. Lesson learned by this escapade There is no place like home England has so much to offer All to see in so short a time Copyright � Reginald Stanley Birch 2005 ��

Welcome back Reg! I agree no place like home. One has to wonder if there is any places left untouched by those who have no esthetic sense of their surroundings and live only acccording to vain appetites and crude behavior. Thanks for sharing... Eileen

There truly is nowhere like home, Reg; but I am saddened to hear what's befallen Switzerland. I last visited there 30 years ago, and it was truly pristine and lovely.
