Moments run still
In the center lane of traffic
A voice calls out to me
But all I really heard was static
All my children crowd round my feet
Cause I shield them from thy enemies
Shepherds foaming in the distant breeze
Sucking my scent out from the grass and trees
Lord I nos they coming ta get me
Deys running ta get me

But I done tasted freedom
Bury in soil deep
Reality has nuthin on my dreams
Donít matter that they coming ta get me
Cause dead or alive Iís gone be free
They done took and stole enuf from me
Shepherds foaming in the distant breeze
Devouring my scent crushing leaves
Thinking they gone come and get me
Thinking they gone get me

Dey planted seeds on my back
Grew out and spreaded like hot wax
Took ma babies milk straight out from ma breast
Planted they face in ma nest
Made a mule of my mother
Turn my father to living dust
Laid out my brother
Opened ma sister till she bust
Got them dogs out looking fo me
Can smell em wit the rushin breezes

When you take a life you forfeit your own
When you steal a soul it sharpen your sense of alone
When you kill a spirit its weight will carry you down below
And if you truly knew God these words you would already know

Iím gonna lay down ma soul and rest
Gonna free ma babies up from this mess
Gonna sing his praise until the end
Gonna free our souls from this sin
And they gone cover ma body in bronze
And tell ma story through the times
And they gone hear our singing from the heart
Ripping inside of them images tearing them apart
Knowing of the strength and the wrongs
Of my freedom song
And my our blood wash through their minds

Hauntingly excellent this is. Freedom's voice indeed whatever that is. I'm resonating with every word an every feeling carved on the wings of the soul who says this.

The sod is covered now in the memory of words spent, minds drip with knowledge but eh blood continues to be let, wisdom is the father mother lost to days gone, ah but the writer, still carries their water, and her voice will never be alone.. You ae a gift special and long remembered.. Walt

Stunning, achingly sad, passionate,inspiring, and. . .
God, how angry it makes me that such evils are
allowed to continue to stalk. Form sometimes changes,
but. . .you would think people would have learned
by now how much we need each other. What hurts one,
hurts all! But maybe, just maybe, as long as there
are voices as talented, intelligent, and insistent as yours,
the horror will end one day. Thanks for being you,

Deep with vision and powerful emotion. This write stands like a gift delivered from the smoldering embers of ancestral consciousness still hot and illuminated within the heart and soul of the poet.
