Ok Daddy, I'll shut up,
although I thought your words were tough.
For all my tears you'll never know,
with age comes rain and winter snow
the whole year round, they made you cold.
I never thought you'd get too old
to see me as the child I am-
the girl who skipped and held your hand.

Ok Daddy, I'll shut up,
I'll keep my distance, hold my tongue.
I'm sorry for my child-like words,
and for my speaking out of turn.
I never thought you'd be the same
as all the others- I had faith.
You do things wrong as well you know,
but I love you, so I never show.

Ok Daddy, I'll shut up,
my heart aches where your words have cut.
My hero, air, my life and love,
I always thought you'd be above
the other boys who picked on me,
they knew it hurt- I cried you see.
I wondered sometimes if you cared,
for my young life that you won't share.

Oh this is sad. I would die for my son. If I had/have a daughter anyone being harsh had best watch out.
What a sad dilema. But don't look for a father figure in male friends.
Just have young fun fun fun...

Very poignant and heartbreaking. Being a father, I try so hard to me a part without overwhelming them. Thank you for sharing on this painful subject.

Peace in all things,
