Life’s Movie…

Now the rain does fall,

He wishes his truck to stall,

On the wet ground a tractor trailer with no brakes,

Would ultimately seal his fate…

Fate sealed,

At the throne of the gods he would kneel,

Thrown out of heaven to cross the stygian sea,

He lived his life as he saw fit,

Unfortunately he treated others like sh**…

He still had no regrets,

He wished though the Yankees could not beat the Mets,

Traveling through the present & past,

Now he can but do nothing to affect his own days to the last,

As he watches his life from beginning to end,

Like that of a movie, unable to it remedy,

This movie he does view is already in his memory cast…

A well written poem of pain with a dash of sweet humor! Sadly, we ALL fall short of the mark, because we're human. Self reflection can be brutally painful and devastating! If we feel we can't forgive ourselves, then we must try to remember that God can. Peace!

Would it not be terrible if a life movie was rated "G"?

My dear Eddie M, of late, your poetry, for me, has been, perhaps, a reflection of your various personal battles in the last year. This one, so achingly expressed, is the best of the lot. Your soul-searching, which you are famous for, seems to be an expression of a man who is looking directly at himself, wounds, scars and total honesty intact. It isn't easy to look yourself in the eye and then show it to others'... but it can be a cleansing. Thank god you write! katy xox

Like that of a movie, unable to it remedy,

I guess the old saying, It's Never Too Late, is often sadly wrong.
