All the Lonely People, Where do they all belong? Lyrics by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Lead singer Paul McCartney--1966)

My love oh my love
When the time of year mark’d One
We revised Karma Sutra twenty-fore-play-seven
In white-hot heat
unmatch’d by your rising sun

My love oh my love
After marking years of Ten
Our once waxed hot emotions
Are rusted thru like tin

My love oh my love
After years that number’d Twenty
We stopped dreaming of Breakfast at Tiffany’s
Since that requir’d more time and money

My love oh my love
When the decades number’d Three
You stop’d thinking of how special we were,
And me? I just gave up the beauty in me

My love oh my love
As we shuffle past year Forty
The utterance of sweet pillow talk
Is now a fictional story

My love oh my love
So many think it’s nifty
To put up with one another’s old ways
When the cake in the freezer turns Fifty

My record is 10 and even that was too much
You did a great job describing the passing of time together
and how the decline is slow but steady

Kudos on the poem, but on the vision board I say, "Confess it!" I'm changing the direction of NJ Spoken Word to focus on the artist in us who speaks her or his vision into existence. So, I guess, C., I iz gon' hav' ta' interview you! ~~Nordette :-)

Cynth'ya,
This is such an inspiring poem, especially now, when
so few make it to their 10th anniversary, let alone
20, 40 or 50! And I love your Vision Board! You gave me
a very big smile...Thank you!
