One thing some of us learn from experience is how to cut our losses. Some of us also learn to consider our cut their loss.

to ride into sunset
a mere hundred shach
a train and two busses
then walk half a block

maybe some new jockeys
would cost around twenty
depends where you bought them
suburbs or the city

strange culture this is
where the men pay for sex
but to talk of commitment
is a noose 'round their necks

i wait here for signs
and apparently wonders
and ask you how far
you're ready to ponder

it was then
that i knew i had lost you
you began to consider
how much it would cost you

to imagine in ten years
turning to me
no longer a young girl
but an aging beauty

i handle my fitness
and thusly i know
that barring some ill fate
my beauty will grow

i will be transformed
as my mothers before
from the round fertile Venus
to Omphale of lore

long after most women
my age's beauty quiets
because of toxic paint
and insane trendy diets

i'll be that old lady
no one knows is old
they'll think i'm a student
who's just very bold

i'm in my mid thirties
without any wrinkles
my ribs may not show
but my bracelets still tinkle

but the outside is only
a preview my friend
the best of my beauty
is found deep within

i accept my gifts
not with arrogance but gratitude
only those who press me
get the bad attitude

so hesitate sadly
and go to another
statistically wise
to find someone younger

close your young eyes
to the reality
that in ten years my boy
she still won't be me

You are a beauty, and you will NEVER be old. Wise, yes. Old, no.

Love this.
