Growing Old by the River
Riverwater
dancing her way
glittering diamonds
slip over rocks,
past the river trees.
Roots tenaciously clinging
to her soil,
branches
drapped heavily
above her,
her first lovers.
Riverwater seducing
adolescent trees,
promising comfort
within the underwater day.
Tiny purple faces
of wild violets watch.
Sun streaming,
her hair ribbons,
irresistable.
