A solemn song of lost love.
Oh, my love, so long lost to me
of time's ago, I weep for thee
my weighted heart in misery
longing for those yester years
of happiness , instead of tears
I shall never feel regret
for your love, I shall never forget
those golden summer days
and passionate nights of rainy haze
Awaiting in hope to see you again
whilest my soul is filled in pain
I keep my eyes towards the hills
on many nights, oft wishing still
that you can hear my aching cry
and feel upon my breast, this sigh
Why Hast love broken free
of our passionate selves
and been placed from me
on far away shelves?
Return the past to me, I pray
and give me back those love filled days
when for me only, your eyes did blaze
when love was all abloom in you
and passion burned between us two
Pointless letters to say I miss
the sweetness of your tender kiss
on moonlit nights of star filled skies
I vision above, your twinkling eyes
A song will play forevermore
along the sandy ocean's shore
of the great joy once shared so deeply
and the once great love , now lost to me

|I tend to not want to personalize poems, but the sadness shows in this poem, it is deeply emotional. If it were to be quite personal to you, I say mourn it some more and then LET IT BURN- regeneration bound!

|Denise my dear friend, to know such a love and to lose it is a shame and a heartache, to never have known that kind of love even if we lose it is a tradgedy. The love will live forever, only the physical is lost. Beautiful write my friend.
