Marie ...
of radiant glory
envy of all the poor ...
never knew
what happened when
the farmer
axed ~
his evening chore.
"Off with her head,"
the farmer's wife said.
Marie was not a muss;
as she in no way
a chicken's head chopped,
the Queen barely noticed
all the fuss.

The Revolution was over,
and dinner served once more.
Marie and her Louis
who growing more fondly
sat down to a meal
and closed the door.
The loyal servants entered
with Chicken a La King ...
a dinner most fine,
and topped it with wine
while angels from heaven
did quietly sing.

You always fascinate and amuse me with your scintillating word play and zany humour..

" Let them eat cake "...has got to be the most callous words ever uttered in the history of mankind !

You rock my friend !
