"As in the darkness we lie down to soar"

Under the Dog Star

Under the Dog Star how shining you are

As hearts soar on these hot high summer nights

The moon embracing brings us near from far

Rises surprises astounds and surrounds

Us with unnumbered unexpected sights

High summer opens to us like a rose

Full-blown without revealing what it knows

For it is left to us to navigate

This high summer night feeling as it grows

Enchanted by moonlight nourished by fate

Blooming on time never early nor late

And always now though we never know how

Under the Dog Star we howl to the sky

Consuming all that which fate will allow

Ourselves consumed but if this is to die

It is but death of death the hidden door

Of life and none could ever ask for more

As in the darkness we lie down to soar
