This Mortal Skin

I shed this mortal skin I wear...
and spirit flies
‘pon God’s sweet air;
As mortal mind is weighted down...
Spirit never touches ground.

I shed this mortal skin I wear...
And travel Truth without a care;
Mortal mind pretends and lies
and doesn
’t care if spirit dies.

I shed this mortal skin I wear...
And spirit wishes it could share
with mortal mind the gifts of Love,
given from God
’s world above.

I shed this mortal skin I wear...
And spirit sheds a single tear;
for mortal mind
’s calamity shorn,
so few wish to become reborn.

I shed this mortal skin I wear...
spirit knows and spirit cares;
Mortal mind has lost it
’s chance
to help spirit with it
’s circumstance.

I shed this mortal skin I wear...
And spirit cries for time it shared
with mortal body, blended, one -
spirit lives within God
’s son.
