“Learn the rules, so that you can break the rules” - Basho

on the vine-
industrious ants raze
the winemaker’s dream

seasonal cares
a late spring rain-
where are the blossoms

diminishing stars
on a moonlit night-
shakespeare in the park

midday sun-
the weathered barn
leans on its shadow

LOVE that last one, Lori. My grandma lives on a farm with a barn just like that.

Hi Gorgeous,

This is a lovely piece, I have one similar posted called 'Seasons', it's my one and only. This is more the Japanese version, no? I am sleepy, it's 5:46AM, lol. Mine is just the regular ole 5-7-5.

Take Care, Janny xoxoxo

You know how, when you read something and out comes a completely involuntary gasp or sound of some kind, Lori? That's exactly what happened when I read that last verse... the barn leaning on its shadow... that's brilliant imagination... amazing expression! My other favorite was the first verse... very creative, peaceful bow to nature. All of it is just wonderful! katy xox.
