A Rider Explains

I try to explain just why I enjoy riding my motorcycle so much.

End of another harduous week
knowing what I must now seek
leave behind glass and bricks
an addict in need of his fix
working day appears so bleak
to this obsessed speed freak
yearning for essential kicks

Must leave my static abode
head out on sun warmed road
gentle through busy streets
until the countryside greets
shrugged off that mental load
as happier seeds are sowed
a pleasure that nothing beats
memory recalling previous feats

A Honda VFR is my new machine
very fast and freshly clean
adrenalin starts again to flow
helmet hidden smile all aglow
don't care that its unseen
nudge, nudge, know what I mean!
it's not all a poser's show
more how well she'll really go

Adore the wind against my face
Swiftly increasing our pace
The ton comes up with ease
as a feather on strong breeze
onto the empty roads we race
the bike oozing feline grace
round some favourite twisties
road brushing alternate knees

On circular rubber wings we fly
below a bright cloudless sky
The bike linked to my very will
many a near heart stopping thrill
Nod to another biker passing by
for they too know exactly why
ready to pay the ultimate bill
because, this beast will kill
