a hand-woven tapestry
sown from a long ago memory
of a Love that used to Be
back when Love was you and me

a pattern woven from a lonely heart
still tryin' ta' make a fresh start
still tryin' ta' mend that broken part
there in my lonely heart

each stitch is sown
by a hand that has known
the feelings that Love has shown
now trembling with the memory of the unkown

colors of a subtle hue
memories of a Love so true
midnight blue
kissed by the evening dew

deep maroon
a Love that all too soon
drifted away like the setting moon
a sad song, a lonesome tune

crimson & red
for the passion that Love fed
an old book that's been read
a road down which i was led

forest green
a Love unseen
a Love that has grown lean
'twixt the Here and the In-Between

a piece of Life's Art for my mind's wall
a woven memory my heart can recall
a Love lost in the Fall
a long walk down a lonely hall

a hand-woven tapestry
sown from Love's memory
a Love that used to be
a Love that was you and me

You are so smooth Steve. I don't know how your ex-wives every walked away - with you always writing such sweet poems about them. Sigh...romance...whatever happened to that notion?

This is funny too. Yesterday I started to write a poem where the first word of every line was a color. Listed of course in alphabetical order from A to Z. Yours is much better. ~ Sara
