Two poems that reflect the emotions we still face four years later. Do we remember? Do we forget? Can we ever move on with our lives, or will going on dishonor those who died?

A conundrum of major proportions.

"Choices, Choices"

I've grown far too comfortable
in letting past events
move in and become my room-mates
and home decorators.
They paint nightmarish scenes on the
walls of my retinas,
awful things I want to forget;
I fall into the past
while struglling to get beyond
the debris of that day,
trapped by the fear of letting go.
Do I stay? Do I leave?
I'm afraid that by forgetting,
"they" will have died in vain ...
I just do not know what to do.

"I Still Fall"

the sidewalks
rise up to meet me;
the sky
shimmers overhead;
the canyons
echo with their names
as i fall
into rememberance ...
and even
after all these years,
i still fall
trying to forget.
