In celebration of the Autumnal Equinox of Thursday, 22 September 2005, and to remember a memorable evening: Happy Fall to all!
Fall Has Fallen On Me
Having slept all day I woke up at five Reluctantly at first but later was Grateful to find myself here still alive
I first noticed that things had changed because Of the late light glowing through my window Orange and violet speaking of change A rumbling expectant feeling that strange Events were in store above and below The sky was spectacular everywhere
Then I turned around and saw a rainbow The like of which I never saw before Filling the sky so broad so deep so high That I have never seen anything more Incredible less plausible yet there It was and then it faded then was gone
But left its after-image as came on From all sides all at once lightning flashing And violent thunder booming crashing Followed on this eve of the dawning fall By the sweet scent of unfamiliar rain After dry months the most welcome of all
Then except for flashing now and again Of lightning as thunder drummed its refrain It was night all at once but still the moon Full and white and brilliant soared above it All as the fall stormed in without warning And so it will remain until morning
Fall has fallen on me and I love it Alone with the moon in the afternoon Of the year just where I want to be: here
Fantastic capture of my favorite season of change, the picture even looks like the country up around my cabin in the woods. As most people in canada dread the coming snows of winter I embrace them as much as I embrace the falling leaves of Fall and the buds of floweres in Spring.
Great write my friend,
