... When fallow, I rely on music to provide a vital spark sometimes, so a comment made by Rob Thomas during a live recorded concert is to thank for this one! As usual with this kind of write, first line just falls into me brain and I use it as a coathanger to attach a body; like mine, this one could do with a few enhancements! :)) Thanks, People! I am doin fine apart from knawing nerve and muscle damage in my back and right arm. A month's daily radiotherapy is scheduled to start in two weeks. Thanks for ongoing love and support. BE WELL!! xx Kate
AFTER ROB THOMAS
For phucked up, you are beautiful
For cracked, you are sublime
For fouled up, you are quite together
For prose, you're full of rhyme
For sorted, I am quite undone
For OK, I'm a mess
For smiling, I am full of crap -
when "more" I'm really "less"
So tell me, who's the enlightened one?
Whose ducks are all in a row?
If you've got it so worked out
how come you're such a show?
For once, you're silent,
lost for words,
no longer stating "Free!"
My mirror image, deaf and dumb,
stares blindly back at me.

|A very thoughtful poem on and around that SELF which some question and keep, and few others SURRENDER to others. This is a very insightful idea, not sure I got the grip of the entire work. But then have a feeling that your last line doesn't need "blindly back".

|Kind of different for you, but still fantastic, Kate. I too draw from music and the comments of other artists. I like this poem, more nitty gritty, yeah. You remain in my prayers for continued healing. ~~Nordette|

|Cheer up old girlie... You know God is with you big time.
You could never be full of crap. Impossible for an English Lady.
No other country has our class...

|If reflections of oneself could speak, they would harmonize and blend with the beautiful self they are. Glad you are progressing, and keeping your chin up.
Thanks for your wonderful review of Death. I truly appreciate it as well as the compliments of my great grand children. I now have five, three boys and two girls, all as handsome and pretty as a picture.

|Oh Kate, sweet Kate sorry to hear that you are still in some major pain, I know what that is like. I will be thinking of you as you recover. This work is priceless in that it could apply so easily to so many of us as each day we look in the mirror without really seeing till one day a different person stares back at us and makes us come to terms with reality. Not the physical reality of our bodies but the spiritual one of our souls. very stirring this one Kate to me anyway.

O, this one resonates deep...you bare your emotions brilliantly. The first and second stanzas particularly hit hard...you, my dear Kate, be well, and know there are a lot of prayers being sent skyward...excellent write.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

|Fantastic write Kate , but I hope you lighten up on yourself soon! The world has enough darkness without one of it's brightest lights going dark too!;-)
