~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can hear a voice calling
Though heavy fog
Like a charismatic chord of mystery and wonder
It’s music to my ears
The possibility arises there is no one there
That what I hear is an enigmatic embrace
From another time
Or perhaps the sound of my synapses conversing
With themselves
Or my oversoul coming through the haze of existence
Or the voice of god filtering through me
Whatever the case may be
I find myself answering back into the wind
Through the meticulous fog
Speaking to vaporous substance of muse
Answering back to the subtle character of presence
And I know something, someone, some far larger being
Can feel my answer
Can sense my response
And will acknowledge
Sharing parallel dreams
And open the way to encounter
And sing together
A song of light
Jude, I have been reading some of your older poetry, before my time here on the den, this poem "A Song Of Light", really struck me. I am going to go back to my poetry from this same date and see what I wrote, because I feel as though we have been communicating for a very long time. Perhaps you think I am crazy, but I believe in the spiritual world with my whole heart and I know, we have been destined to meet and do amazing light work together..
Awaken that dormant passion that I know is just beneath that surface, you need to "live again!"
Much peace, light and love,
Amber
Very poetic lines, I love the attention to all the essential calls of nature and the universe around.
An open-minded approach to true spirituality that meets the right words.
You have no idea how good it is to read this poem, Jude. I go through this very same thing quite often, I even hear the voice as well as feel the presence. Fleeting words reminding me that I am loved. I automatically reply, "I love you too," though I am uncertain who it is I am speaking to or feeling that loving energy from. There is a portal to a parallel lifetime or to the past or future and it never closes. Perhaps for those brief moments we are ships passing in the night. This is a wonderful write, Jude, I am glad I had the opportunity to read it.
Take care,
Sherry
There is such peace and harmony attached to this, I feel. Bit of a duvet write for me this evening, feeling slightly toasted here! :)) Such confidence, and the sense of being in a wide and spacious place... like this "unknown" is neither alien or worrying for you, but a desired "stage further on" or "deeper in", perhaps, with the imagery of the fog. Ideas of mist usually conjure notions of confusion and fear, but I feel this does quite the opposite - like it is in itself a sort of "swaddled" write; a warm (rather than cold) cloaking in intimacy. Very musical, too: voice/chord/music/sound/answering/speaking/sing/song... lots and lots of communication going on here that is both to be heard and said. Delightful,uplifting and full of hope! :)) TY Kate xx
Jude, this soars. it lifts me. the world needs more of that 'enigmatic embrace' and "Song of Light" strikes an oft-forgotten chord, reminding us to open ourselves to encounter. Dawn PS love the new pic.
This poem evokes the very light of which you speak in the last stanza and causes it to shine out on your audience of readers with the wonders that you as the poet perceive.
St. Elmo's fire merging with the will o' the wisp. Masts and rigging of ships shimmer with flames the sailors call St. Elmo's fire, a small electrical discharge caused by a storm. This merges with the will o' the wisp, a mysterious light drifting through the fog in still silence, hovering around graves, a sign of a wandering soul of a dead spirit luring you to A Song of Light. Given your geographical location, near the water, perhaps you should be looking in close proximity of a lighthouse.
