Tanned and freckly
giggly and wiggly
reliving diddly of love
Starting in the middle
of the beginning without end
knowing to not love him
wouldn’t be worth defense
And to love him less
like a misaligned compass
would only occur
at his final request
Because as I’ve said to myself
and I’ve said to others
I will love him always
on cold and warm days;
beneath a burning sun
or thundering rain
Until skies bleed red
and seas turn gray
Embracing feistiness
and deeply felt sadness,
where lives a knowing
of hopes entrapment
bathed in wonderment
and everlasting happiness
Because to not love him at all
would be just wrong
as loving him
is what I do
and it’s what I did
yesterday
today
and always.

YES!
